MENEN - Decospan, the expert for interior wood solutions, is taking an important new step in its European strategy. CEO Pieterjan Desmet has taken over the Czech company ESCO, which specializes in solid and multi-layer oak parquet.
The acquisition closes the circle of activities that Decospan had in mind. In addition to the Belgian hardwood veneer flooring ‘Parky’ and the French multi-layer parquet ‘Cabbani’, Decospan now offers a full range of wooden floors. By focusing on European production and quality, the Desmet family is once again stepping up the company’s game. The acquisition thus strengthens the market position and European presence. It also opens up new perspectives in Eastern Europe, where Decospan already has a factory.
ESCO is no small player or a mere follower in the flooring industry. The originally Dutch family business of the Kuijpers family accounts for a turnover of 12 million euro and employs around 170 employees. The modern sawmill is the biggest asset because it ensures the own supply of oak top layers. The Kuijpers family will continue to manage ESCO the next five years. Both companies and families are convinced that this cooperation will provide added value for their customers. The first beautiful realization of both companies joining forces is the new Cabbani Bohemia collection.
