That also fits with the many exclusive shops in the Commercial Bay shopping centre where the Rip Curl shop is located in Auckland.
Wood from top to bottom
It seems to be atypical, yet it works – this shop full of surfing items and leisure clothing is decorated from top to bottom with wood. The result is extremely warm and welcoming, with a natural and at the same time luxurious appearance. Here you will find it a pleasure to squeeze into surfing gear in the changing rooms. In a shopping centre, attention is always given to attracting customers and keeping people inside as long as possible, and Rip Curl has certainly succeeded here.
Brushed wooden surface
For the interior finish of the Rip Curl Commercial Bay shop, Querkus Natural Vivace, among others, were used. The panels in oak veneer come in four thicknesses, and so are ideal for a total concept as in this shop. The surface was also brushed for extra structure and relief. This causes the natural beauty of the wood to be shown off even better to its advantage.
