Wall, Furniture
The home itself isnt terribly large, but interior designer Nathalie Sigiez drew on her creative insights to cleverly make the most of the space available. That smart approach included a consistent application of the same colours and materials to make the space feel calm and spacious.
White is an obvious colour choice in a home with limited floor space. Lighter shades simply look airier, increasing the feeling of space. Even still, Sigiez and the owners decided to pair that with dark earth tones. Its a bold choice, especially since the veneer in Shinnoki Smoked Walnut recurs throughout the house as wall cladding, giving it a very powerful presence
As a concept, its clearly proven its worth. The large surfaces in dark veneer panels instil a feeling of hygge and warmth in the interior. They also provide visual unity and a sense of serenity, e.g. in the downstairs room where the veneer wall extends from the kitchen and dining area into the living room. Add cleverly designed custom furniture to the mix, and you have a unique home that has it all – and then some!
Shinnoki’s prefinished veneer panels were the ideal material for this project. They are high-quality and robust and don’t require any additional work. Consequently, its popularity among architects and builders should come as no surprise.
