The D-One office complex can safely be called a statement building. Futurn & Koramic Real Estate commissioned the architectural firm, Goedefroo + Goedefroo, to create an extraordinary glass building encased in a curtain of aluminium fins. The result is an ultra-contemporary office building with lots of light and a flexible, functional layout.
Inside, De Laere Decor immaculately decorated one of the building’s divisions as office space on behalf of the client Futurn, based on a design by interior design agency Co.Studio. Futurn is also a project developer, which meant they got the green light to pull out all the stops on this project. And the result is undeniably original.
A dark colour palette was no cause for concern in these offices, given the abundance of natural light. Instead of making the space dark and gloomy, the multiple walls finished in dark Amazakoué radiate a warm, homely feeling. Mission accomplished. With dark furniture, soft carpeting, a comfortable seating area, and a cosy gas fireplace, its a picture-perfect office space. And the rustic concrete slab ceilings and glass walls guarantee that it’s not too cushy.
Amazakoué is a tropical African evergreen wood that has been finished here with a natural varnish to showcase the woods beautiful buff-to-chocolate colour range. The panels are partially interspersed with grooved acoustic panels that don’t interrupt the harmony of the design. It’s a perfect solution for large open spaces like this one.
