Since October 2020, the college Howest has a new home in Kortrijk. The building was designed to make room for initiatives from the neighbourhood in addition to educational activities. For this, the campus had to be very open and sustainable.
Inside the building, the architects wanted to bring in that sustainable and natural aspect. So they often used Ivory Oak, a yellow-brown to dark brown veneer from the Shinnoki collection. Oak is the most sustainable wood species from Europe and, in addition, the Shinnoki panels are made ready for use. An ideal choice for this large and innovative project.
Campus The Penta will now host more than a thousand students each year. These students will come from eight different fields, including communications management, occupational therapy and journalism. So its a multifunctional and stimulating place!
